Studies into the harmful side effects of anti-depressants have shown that many cause addition, suicidal tendencies, sexual dysfunctions and senility. Further studies into the anti depressants showed that the body used up essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids in processing the anti-depressants through the body. In light of a recent medical science study, anxiety and depression may be a direct link to the foods we eat and how well these foods are converted into brain transmitting chemicals or neurotransmitters.
This neurotransmitters assist the body greatly by controlling pain levels, reducing anxiety and are able to encourage happiness and allow us to attain a good night sleep. The neurotransmitters are able to boost energy levels and provide us with mental clarity, allowing us to function well throughout the day. These ‘feel good’ feelings are directly derived from amino acid found in the body and thus it is believed that anxiety is directly linked to neurotransmitters and amino acids working together to create feelings of happiness and joy. Through amino acid replacement therapy the effects of anxiety can certainly be balanced out, allowing sufferers to shake off feelings of depression and helplessness instead of relying of prescription drugs which have harmful side effects. It is not possible to be born with a Prozac deficiency but it is certainly normal to develop a serotonin deficiency or an amino acids shortage – it certainly makes food for thought?
